During the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 12, Catoosa County sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Spring Meadows Drive and Hopper Road in Ringgold, resulting in a burglary investiga-tion at the home of the vehicle’s owner.

Deputies arrived at the scene of the accident to find a gold Honda Accord sitting in the intersection unattended with the engine still running.

Upon checking the VIN number through NCIC, deputies were able to trace ownership of the vehicle to a resi-dence at 93 Cross Wind Circle.

After unsuccessful attempts to reach the vehicle owner, deputies went to the residence, and discovered that ga-rage door was opened as well as an unsecured door leading into the home.

Signs of forced entry were found to the door leading from the garage to the interior of the home, as well as an unsecured window in the garage.

Police contacted the homeowner’s mother, and she informed deputies that the family was out of town on vaca-tion.

The vehicle was taken to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s impound lot while the investigation continues.

If you have any information on this case, contact the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office at 706-935-2424 or 706-965-6863. Anyone with information leading to the arrest and prosecution could receive a cash reward up to $1,000.
