The Tunnel Hill Heritage Center announces it will be participating in this year’s Smithsonian Museum Day Saturday, Sept. 25.

Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Media in which participating museums across the country open their doors for free to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission to one person, plus a guest. Official tickets can be found on the Museum Day website, http://microsite.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/

Visitors to the Heritage Center presenting a Museum Day ticket will be given free tours of the Heritage Center Museum and guided tours of the historic 1850 Western & Atlantic Railroad Tunnel.

The Heritage Center is located at 215 Clisby Austin Road in Tunnel Hill, just off U.S. 41. Operating hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
