Two newcomers, an incumbent win Fort Oglethorpe City Council seats

Two newcomers and an incumbent took the Fort Oglethorpe City Council seats up for election on Tuesday.

In the race for the Ward 2 seat, Earl Gray beat incumbent Harold Silcox with 453 votes. Silcox received 278 votes.

In the race for the Ward 3 seat, incumbent Louis Hamm was re-elected. He received 368 votes. Richard Egeland received 114 votes and John Muina received 257.

In the race for the Ward 5 seat, Eddie Stinnett received 11 more votes than incumbent Steve Brandon. Brandon received 292 votes, and Stinnett received 303. David Dunham was also running for this council seat. He received 155 votes.

The winners had to receive 40 percent of the total votes to win.
