The Cup, is awarded to the top middle school athletic program between Heritage, Ringgold and Lakeview Middle School.
The Generals Athletic Director Mel Edwards said he couldn't be more proud of his students, coaches and parents.
We are really proud of our athletes," he said. "Parental support at Heritage has been tremendous. Our athletes and coaches have worked incredibly hard this year. This award is a tribute to them, their parents, and our coaches."
Heritage Principal Chris Lusk said it was very rewarding to see his kids' hardwork payoff.
"I am extremely proud of our athletes and coaches," he said. "All have worked so hard to make this accomplishment possible. Our athletes and coaches have set the bar high
for all future generals."
Last year's Principal cup came down to the wire when LeGreg Burns won the 200 meter race in the North Georgia Athletic Conference track championship to secure the win over Ringgold.
This year Edwards said Heritage has led the competition the entire year beginning with two big wins with boys and girls cross country.
Ringgold pulled within one point after winning the championship in baseball season, but Heritage stormed back after wins in boys soccer, boys and girls track and golf
