Dear editor,

Here is another fine example of poor decision making on our behalf. Why do we, as taxpayers, want to pour more money into an organization when there was nothing wrong with it to start with? It was brought to my attention that our fire rating is now lower than it has been in years. Why would anyone pour more money and all this time into something with a negative return? Seems to me the volunteers (firefighters) have done their job year after year with very little in return. I for one would rather have someone doing a job that loved what they do rather than one who looked at it as just a paycheck.
