Parents need to be accountable for student behavior on school bus

Dear editor:

There needs to be cameras on every school bus and when there are buses in which a lot of problems occur there needs to be an aide on that bus. I know that is probably not a popular idea with all of the budget constraints, but the safety of the children and the drivers is worth the cost.

It is also for the safety of other drivers on the road. Also, when kids cause repeat problems on the bus, they should be put off permanently. Parents should be held accountable for their children’s actions, and if they have to provide transportation for them to school because they won’t behave on the bus then so be it.

Our buses and streets are too crowded to have constant troublemakers on the bus. It is enough for the driver just to have to worry about driving a bus through traffic. They shouldn’t have to worry about undisciplined children.

Trish White,

Ringgold
