The Gordon Lee Middle School boys’ basketball team kept rolling this past Thursday with a 55-31 victory over Ringgold, extending their winning streak.

The Trojans led 31-13 at halftime as they cruised to the win. Caleb Boyd had 15 points in the victory. Justin Wooden and Justus Craddock added nine points each, while Jensen Schon had 13 for Ringgold.

On Saturday, the Trojans took the first game of a rare home-and-away doubleheader, defeating Dade County, 51-38.

Gordon Lee led 22-20 at the break, but outscored the Wolverines 22-9 in the third quarter to take control for good.

Boyd had 14 points in the victory. Chaney Rogers added nine and Gavin Robertson had eight in Gordon Lee’s 14th straight win.

The Trojans (14-1 overall, 12-1 NGAC) will play at Chattanooga Valley at 5:45 tonight to complete their day. The game is being made up today after it had to be postponed due to school closings on Friday.

The Lady Trojans were not as fortunate against Ringgold as they fell to the Lady Tigers for the second time this season.

Down 2-0, Ringgold went on a 17-0 run in the first quarter and led 23-15 at halftime. The Lady Trojans cut the lead down to three in the closing moments and had the ball with 30 seconds remaining.

However, Gordon Lee was whistled for traveling on a drive to the basket, and Kiwi Dale sunk the game-sealing free throw with 20.8 seconds left in a 40-36 win.

Dale had 10 points for Ringgold (12-2 in NGAC play). Dare Schley scored 13 points, 10 coming in the first-quarter run.

Sarah Meadows had 11 points to lead the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Trojans (13-2, 11-2) will also play a second game at 4 p.m. today at Chattanooga Valley after beating Dade County, 50-17, early Saturday morning. Individual scorers were not available as of press time.
