• The Sheriff's Office is investigating a string of entering auto cases that broke out along Prater Road in Rossville during the early morning hours of Monday, Jan. 14, in which numerous items were stolen from four different vehicles.

The thefts took place at 669, 676, 248, and 501 Prater Road.

At 669, an unknown offender(s) took $20 worth of change and three CDs valued at $8 each from a 2009 Honda Civic.

At 676, the victim stated that he saw two females walking down his street around 7 a.m., then later discovered that his two vehicles had been ransacked, but nothing stolen. He stated that someone merely scattered his tools across the seat and floorboard of his truck.

At 248, the victim told police that someone entered his 1996 Suzuki Side-Kick J and made off with her vinyl sports bag containing gym clothes and tennis shoes.

At 501, the victim reported that a Nikon digital camera and a Garman GPS system had been stolen from his vehicle.

In all four cases, there were no signs of forced-entry into the vehicles, and the owners admitted that the vehicles were left unlocked.

Collectively, about $379 worth of merchandise was reported stolen during the incidents.

The cases were turned over to detective Ed Vickery and Ronald Roach.

• Between 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 15, an entering auto occurred on Roswell Road in Rossville resulting in the theft of approximately $175 worth of cash and electronics from the vehicle.

The victim told police that he arrived home Monday evening and left his unlocked vehicle in his driveway only to find out the next morning that someone entered the vehicle overnight and stole multiple items.

He stated that an assortment of loose change, an MP3 player, and an assortment of keys were taken from his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The case was turned over to detective Daniel Thacker.

• Between 11 a.m. on Jan. 14 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 16, a forced-entry burglary occurred on South Wooten Road in Ringgold, resulting in the theft of approximately $560 worth of tools from a garage.

The victim stated that his belongings were in his garage on Jan. 14, and that on Jan. 16, he noticed a window had been broken with items missing.

Further inspection of the garage revealed that the door frame had also been damaged.

A cordless drill, a chainsaw, and two sets of golf clubs were among the items stolen during the incident.

The case was turned over to detective Ronald Roach.
