COMMUNITY · Holiday Candlelight Tours at the Marsh House in LaFayette will be offered each Saturday and Sunday in December from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children. COMMUNITY · The Martin Davis House in McLemore’s Cove will be open for tours on from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and Sunday, Dec. 16. The Martin Davis House is located 8 miles west of LaFayette, at the intersection of Georgia Highway 193 and Georgia Highway 341. This historic farm is administered by the Martin Davis House Foundation.

COMMUNITY · The inaugural Rome Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at State Mutual Stadium/Heritage Trails. ENTERTAINMENT · The ReCreate Café of The Salvation Army 614 Corps will present “Behold the Lamb of God” to benefit their Arts Program for the Homeless and Artist Communities of Chattanooga. COMMUNITY · A breastfeeding class will be offered from 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, Erlanger East (Gunbarrel Road) in Chattanooga. This class is designed to help participants make an informed choice about breastfeeding. Learn breastfeeding basics, what to expect the first few weeks and special tips for success. COMMUNITY · The City of LaFayette’s annual “Amazing Christmas” light show will continue through Jan. 2, 2013, at Joe Stock Memorial park. COMMUNITY · Catoosa Citizens for Animal Care, Inc. is selling Adventures in Dining Coupon Books for $35. The books contain 87 buy-one-get-one free coupons for dining and entertainment in Chattanooga, north Georgia and Cleveland. The total value of the book is over $1,100. The group receives a $10 commission for each book sold. Books are available at the following locations: Ringgold Telephone Company and Tille Town in Ringgold; and The Animal Medical Center in Ft. CHURCH · Chattooga Baptist Church will hold its annual Christmas Cantata Sunday morning, Dec. 16, starting at 11 a.m. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. The Children's Christmas play will be performed Sunday morning, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. The church is on Highway 337, about 7 miles south of LaFayette, in the Center Post community.

COMMUNITY · Christmas at the Farm will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Willow Tree Farms, 607 Post Oak Road in Ringgold, just north of Heritage High School. Parking is on-site or attendees can take the shuttle from Heritage High School. COMMUNITY · Starting Jan. 1, 2013, Georgia Farmers will need to apply and obtain a GATE (Georgia Agriculture Exemption Card) from the Georgia Dept. of Agriculture. This is the result of HB 386 which was passed this year by the legislature which allows Georgia farmers to take advantage of additional sales tax exemptions. If you are a farm producer with $ 2,500 in Ag income, you need to prepare to obtain a GATE card.
