The Walker County Chamber of Commerce will go “Back to Our Roots” and host its 2013 annual membership dinner on Friday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Mountain Cove Farms Show Barn.

The program will include the recognition of retiring directors, as well as the official passing of the gavel from chair Vickie Hodge of The Jimmy Simpson Foundation to incoming chair Sherry Foster of the City of Rossville.

The winners of the 2012 Chamber Member of the Year and the 2012 Small Business of the Year will also be announced.

Entertainment and dancing will be provided by the Nathan Farrow Band, who has been nominated for numerous awards including 2010 FYI Awards (Best Male Vocalist, Best Country Band and Best Live Band) as well as 2012 GeorgiaCountry.com Awards (Best Male Vocalist). During the event attendees will enjoy a variety of music including country, classic rock and current hits.

At a young age Farrow was exposed to music while visiting his uncle’s chicken house, use for impromptu jam sessions near his hometown of Ringgold. In his teens he started fronting a local band and performing regionally as well as writing songs. As the years passed he has continued to perform while becoming a firefighter and having a family. Currently he works as a firefighter for Walker County Fire and plays music throughout the Southeast including a mix of original songs, outlaw country and mainstream hits.

Attendees are reminded that the event will be taking place in a converted barn; cowboy boots and western themed clothing are encouraged.

The cost to attend is $50 per person or $500 for a reserved corporate table of eight. Registration includes a wonderful meal provided by No Small Affair.
