Georgia Northwestern's Lady Bobcats fell to 2-3 on the season with a 80-57 non-region loss to Cleveland State (Tenn.) at the Winthrop-King Center in Rome on Tuesday night.

A slow start to open the game left both teams looking for answers early. However, the Lady Cougars would go on a run to build a 33-19 lead going into the intermission.

Kiara Parks and Keesha Wise both had 15 points for GNTC. Parks would go 9-of-9 at the foul line, while adding five steals and five assists. Wise would spur the defense with three blocked shots.

Cleveland State’s Hannah Brown would also score 15 points in leading the Lady Cougars (2-3) to their second win of the season.

One noticeable absence in the Georgia Northwestern lineup was freshman Alyssa Nichelson. The Canton native is out with an illness and is listed as questionable for Thursday night’s home game with Oakwood University (Ala).
