A Catoosa Springs man wanted by the Ringgold Police Department for scamming citizens out of thousands of dollars in a computer scam was seen in Dalton Friday, March 16, police say.

According to the Ringgold Police Department, 41-year-old Greg Ratliff of Dawn Lane in Catoosa Springs was seen about 9:18 a.m. Friday in Dalton at the Post Office on Murray Avenue.

“We received information that Ratliff was spotted at the post office attempting to set up a P.O. box early this morning,” said chief Dan Bilbrey Friday. “He was seen driving a black Dodge Dakota extended cab truck.”

Ratliff is wanted on multiple counts of theft for his role in a computer scam in which he took several thousands of dollars in computers and money from would-be customers of Fast Fix Computers on U.S. 41 in Ringgold, and then fled the area.

“We filed several reports in which citizens took their items to this shop for repairs, and then were unable to re-trieve their items from the Ratliff, who was running the shop,” Bilbrey said.

Shortly after police seized the items, the department was able to return the majority of the items to the owners, reports show.

Ratliff, who also has active civil warrants regarding child support, fled the area last month and was believed to be in North Carolina before being seen Fridayd in Dalton.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Greg Ratliff is encouraged to contact the Ringgold Police Department at 706-935-3066.
