Five people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night after a tractor-trailer collided with a van and jackknifed on the northbound side of Interstate 75 around near exit 349 in Ringgold, according to news reports.

The Georgia State Patrol post in Dalton investigated the wreck. A dispatcher at the post this morning said no one was available to provide information on the wreck.

The accident caused the tractor-trailer to leak fuel, prolonging cleanup and shutting down lanes on the interstate for several hours, according to news reports.

The accident occurred about 8:30 p.m.
