Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe will hold a news conference this morning regarding plans to partner with a Chattanooga hospital.

The conference will begin at 11 a.m. in the hospital’s main lobby. For full coverage, joins us for a live blog from the conference.

The hospital, which serves Walker, Catoosa and Dade counties, is weighing options to partner with either Erlanger Health System or Memorial Health Care System.

The move is regarded as necessary to keep Hutcheson afloat in the wake of a $7.3 million loss in the budget year that ended Sept. 30, 2009.

Both Erlanger and Memorial pitched preliminary proposals earlier this month to a select group of hospital staff and community stakeholders.
