The LaFayette Senior Neighbors met Thursday, Oct. 7, with 28 members and 5 visitors present.

Margaret Newton, president, called the meeting to order.

Visitors were acknowledged and welcomed.

Prayer was requested for the following people: Bill and Dot Baker, Mary and Donald Brown, Mrs. Chadburn’s nephew and Dianne Wallis.

Robert Patterson opened the meeting with prayer.

The secretary’s report was approved as presented. A note was read from the family of Ruth Bartlett, our former treasurer, who passed away in September.

We elected Martha McCosar to serve as our new treasurer.

We sang happy birthday and happy anniversary to the people celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

Margaret suggested our club do a project. She suggested that we do a coat drive. This will be discussed further at our November meeting.

Our November meeting will be our Thanksgiving meal. Lula Bandy and Jane Waters agreed to cook turkey and dressing with the club providing the turkeys. Vera Palmer and Mary Howe will cook a ham.

The program was turned over to Vera Palmer, Program Chairman, who introduced Jim and Lavenda Sailors. Lavenda sang several songs and Jim did a short devotion.

Vera Palmer led the group in prayer before a covered dish luncheon was served.
