COMMUNITY · YMCA swim lessons will be held at North Georgia Healthcare in Ringgold for children ages 3-12 from now through Aug. 30. The camps will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. each day at a cost of $60 per camp. Tuesdays will include work on the driving range, Wednesdays will be spent on the practice greens, and Thursdays will be reserved for on course work. The camps will be directed and taught by Eddie Jackson, a former PGA Tour player who has spent the past 27 years as a teaching professional. COMMUNITY · The Chattanooga History Center will present Cherokee Life, a program for parent/child teams, from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9. Children 6 to 8 years old are eligible, and each child is to be accompanied by one parent, grandparent or other caregiver. The fee of $10 admits a child and an adult. ENTERTAINMENT · Chris McDaniel, formerly with multi-platinum selling Confederate Railroad, will appear at Sacred Sounds Friday, June 8. at 7:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Depot, corner of Depot Street and U.S. 41 in Ringgold, for the Share America Foundation. Also appearing will be harmonica player Otis Head and the barbershop quartet Rock City 4. Randall Franks from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night” will emcee. The event is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund helping musicians achieve higher education. Donations for tickets are adults: $5, Children 5 and under free with adult. COMMUNITY · Parkridge East Hospital is hosting a pelvic pain seminar on the topic of endometriosis from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 8 in the facility’s BirthPlace classroom. This event will help attendees to understand more about symptoms and treatment for endometriosis, one of the most common causes of chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Del Ashcraft will give a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session. Light refreshments will be provided.
