(UPDATE: Carolyn Clayton has been found safe and sound.)

The Catoosa County tSheriff's Office continues its search for a Ringgold woman who hasn't been seen in more than a week after she mentioned plans to take a trip to Tennessee and has yet to make contact with family members.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office:

Marvin Clayton says he last saw his wife, 47-year-old Carolyn Clayton of 218 Townsend Circle in Ringgold, about 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6.

Clayton told police his wife talked about traveling to Loudon, Tenn., to see her father. He said she never arrived in Loudon and has not contacted him or the couple's children.

Maj. Gary Sisk said attempts to contact Carolyn Clayton have been unsuccessful.

"There has been no activity on Mrs. Clayton's cell phone, ATM cards, checking account, or credit cards," Sisk said in a news release.

Clayton's husband told police that the couple's two children, an 11-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were missing about $210 in cash that he believes Carolyn took with her before she disappeared.

Carolyn Clayton was last seen wearing a purple blouse and blue jeans and was driving a 1998 silver Mercedes Benz E320 with Georgia license plate "PAULIII."

Clayton has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is about five-feet eight-inches tall weighing 170-pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Carolyn Clayton is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office at 706-935-2424.

Either ran off with a boyfriend or just sick of being a wife and mother.
