Pipers, dancers, and kilts … oh my!

Over the Labor Day weekend, the Ringgold city ball fields underwent a transformation and hosted a whole new type of athlete, as it was the site of the third annual Appalachian Celtic Highland Festival and Scottish Games.

With everything from crafts, vendors, music, dancing, and games, the city experienced a touch of culture as many community members turned out in their Celtic garb to take part in the festivities.

“We’ve had a good turnout this weekend,” said Ringgold marketing coordinator Meaghan Dant. “This type of event is a little different from others the city puts on, but we’ve had a lot of people come by and check out all that the festival has to offer.”

Thanks for the coverage Catoosa County News. It is appreciated.

Just one correction, though. It was our Ninth Annual Appalachian Celtic Festival and Highland Games.

We are planning an even bigger event in Ringgold for our 10th annual on Labor Day weekend, 2011.
