A Rossville man was arrested for allegedly terrorizing a woman with a machete.

According to Walker County Sheriff’s Office reports:

At 11p.m. on June 7, Kyle Edward Mount of Park Lake Road in Rossville was at the residence of a friend that is close to his ex-girlfriend.

Mount, a 20-year-old, began screaming at the woman’s child after her son entered the bedroom where Mount was, according to her statement.

The woman told Mount to calm down and not yell at her son. She quickly became the target of his verbal onslaught.

The situation escalated violently as she stood in a doorway, ready to leave. Mount swung a machete, hitting the doorway 12 inches above her head.

He then pinned her against a cabinet and allegedly yelled, "You ain’t seen crazy yet” at her.

Mount then struck the right side of her face as she attempted to call 911.

The woman, fearing for her life, grabbed a knife until he left the residence.

Responding deputy Ron Clark took her statement, then questioned Mount, who had been located at the Happy Valley and Salem Road intersection.

Mount had a laceration to his right arm, which required a medic to respond to the scene.

Upon questioning by Clark, Mount admitted to yelling at the child and grabbing the machete but denied “throwing (it) at her or the door.” He claimed to have thrown it into the garage instead.

Mount also stated he was trying to hit the phone out of the woman’s hand, but instead connected with her face. He claims that the woman cut him as he swung at her phone.

After questioning he was transported to Erlanger at Hutcheson Medical Center for evaluation.

There was no blood traces found on Mount’s machete or the knife the victim had.

Mount was arrested on June 12 for the incident. He faces one felony count of aggravated assault with a weapon and a misdemeanor count of battery.
