Students and families used their creative skills to decorate pumpkins for the school’s second annual pumpkin contest which was held Oct. 21. Along with the traditional method of carving, students painted and decorated pumpkins in many unusual ways. Almost 150 pumpkins were entered. Some of the entries included ghosts, spiders, R2D2, Cinderella’s carriage, hamburgers and Lady Gourd Gourd. Graysville’s business partners served as judges for the event. Pictured are the first place winners and judges with Paula Crosby, principal of GES. First place winners include Lauren Dantuma, Will Forgey, Cole Rominger, Cade Williams, Noah Hobbs, Shannon Owens and Gabe Garverick as well as Evie Ann Owen who is not pictured. Judges were Kristy Armour of Winner’s Circle, Buffy Hemphill with Partnership 2000 and Tracie Morrow with Gateway Bank.
