COMMUNITY · There will be a special one-hour program at Chickamauga Battlefield Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m., to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic. Join a park ranger to learn and discuss an important connection between the Battle of Chickamauga and the sinking of the Titanic. Although the two historical events are separated by almost 49 years, the Battle of Chickamauga was discussed aboard the Ti-tanic’s maiden voyage. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The program begins at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center parking lot and then will car caravan onto the battlefield.
