Kramer
Meet today's double dose of cuteness – Kramer and Prue. This brother and sister live at the Walker County animal shelter and are available for adoption.

Kramer is a big orange guy and looks a lot like that famous tv cat, Morris, only a shade lighter in color, much more handsome and not at all finicky. He loves treats, even dog treats and has been known to help himself to Greenies.

Kramer has been neutered and Prue has been spayed. They are about 1 1/2 years old. They both know their names. They will be happier and healthier if they are mostly indoor cats.

Kramer is a favorite among the staff at the shelter because he's so darned adorable and affectionate. When I was there I watched a young woman pick him up from the chair he occupied so she could sit down; then she proceeded to hold him in her arms like a baby...and he loved it!

Kramer is like a heat-seeking missle — could be your lap if you're still long enough, a sunspot in front of the window or the copy machine after it's been running for a while. He also prefers high places.

Prue, on the other hand, is more grounded. She also likes laps, enjoys being combed and will chat with you about your day. She is a long-haired diluted tortoiseshell. Her fur is a pale shade of silvery grey with touches of white and apricot.

Her expressive eyes are huge and rimmed in black. Her eyebrows and whiskers are as elegant as she is. Prue reminds me of a diluted tortie we had when my children were little — contemplative, perhaps a mystic and a bit of an intellectual.

My daughter enjoyed assigning each of our cats an avocation or profession and Thomasina, our diluted tortie was deemed a poet. Prue could also be a poet. That's her demeanor. She could also be the Audrey Hepburn of the feline world. Yep, she's beautiful.

If you've ever lived with a cat, you already know they are wonderful companions. These two can be adopted separately or if you have room in your heart and home, love themboth. The shelter is located at 5488 Marble Top Road; phone number is 706-375-2100.

Ann Malone is a pet photographer and can't remember a time she did not have pets in her life. Today she has three dogs, three cats and one parrot. She can be reached at annmh@live.com.
