The Walker County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the 2012-13 Adult Leadership Walker County program.

The program, a collaborative effort between Chamber staff, members and community leaders, provides participants the opportunity to both learn and develop skills necessary to community leadership. Participants are given an overview of city and county operations, allowed to tour local tourist attractions and businesses and are equipped with vital information about government, education, social services and industry.

Running September-May, the program kicks off with a bonding retreat and ends with a graduation celebration. Most of the sessions will take place the second Tuesday of each month from 8:30 a.m. until 5 pm.

Participants are required to attend all functions associated with the program and must receive approval from their company’s chief executive officer before an application will be considered. Tuitionm is $350 for Chambe Members and $400 for non-members. All fees must be paid in full before the beginning of the program and must be paid by the participant, the participant’s employer or a combination of the two.
