According to Walker County Sheriff’s Office reports:
Carless Lebron Cross of Myers Road in Chickamauga was arrested on May 14, stemming from a theft report on April 29.
The owner of a Red Huskee riding lawnmower noticed his stolen mower at a neighbor’s residence.
Responding deputy Timothy Perkins spoke with the homeowner, who said that his uncle had purchased the mower “from a Hispanic man at Big D’s flea market in Dalton.”
Detective Walt Hensley was also on scene as the homeowner showed the pushmowers, yard equipment and two aluminum boats he purchased.
All of those items were determined to have been stolen in four seperate thefts occurring in the same area along Marble Top Road, Friendship Road and Garretts Chapel Road.
Cross faces a felony count of theft by taking for the mower. He also faces three misdemeanor counts of theft by taking and one felony count of burglary.
