“It’s been in my heart for several years,” said Campbell Friday morning. She officially decided to run for office approximately two weeks ago, after seeing the number of people disappointed by Dr. Paul Shaw’s defeat by incumbent Bebe Heiskell in the July 31 primary.
“Nothing’s changed,” she said. “If I can’t have Dr. Shaw, they can have someone who thinks like him.”
Campbell maintains that her platform is identical to Shaw’s: both want a five-person board of commissioners and a serious investigation into the financial operations of the county.
“I will evaluate every department,” she said.
As for Shaw, Campbell stated that if elected, she will retain him as an advisor and colleague. “I will have him with me in the administration.”
“I will not change EMS,” she said. “I will not change the fire department. I want to add to the volunteer fire department.”
“I will not develop the Mountain Cove Farms,” she said, touching on a point that was especially near and dear to the Shaw campaign. “I want to talk to the citizens of Mountain Cove and see what they want.”
Campbell emphasized that her campaign will focus on the process required for voters to write her name in on the ballot; although she will not be officially listed on the ballot by name, she will be registered as a write-in candidate and any derivation of her name will be recognized as valid.

Windcrest Viewpoint
windcrestpointless is at it again. You are such a sad bunch, continue making up lies and blocking the truth on you so called FB page. This page will block EVERYONE that disagree with them. Kind of Un American if you think about it. No freedom of speech there.
5)Everybody will know what tricks to watch out for by the incumbent this go-round. Any shenanigans will be spotted a lot quicker. (Watch the nursing homes this time)
4)This lady has none of Dr. Shaw's baggage. I like him, but he rubs some folks the wrong way. (Right guy, wrong job). She's a sweetie.
3) Canyon Ridge. I can't emphasize enough that this deal enraged the voting public. Given another shot at the incumbent, lots of people who sat out the primary may just get their booty on down to the polls in November.
2)The economy is crappy. This is a very anti-incumbent year. Turnout is likely to be high again in November. People don't turn out in record numbers to vote for the status quo.
1) (The BIGGIE) It's a fact that fully half the voters want Bebe Heiskell turned out of office (with good reason,I might add). If just one voter in ten brought JUST ONE MORE PERSON to the polls with them on election day, this corrupt regime could be sent packing. No need to have debates or forums with Bebe lying about being invited. make the emphasis education. Print lots of materials with Ales Campbell's name on it. Teach voters HOW to write in her name.Teach ,teach, teach. It's hard (but not impossible by any means) to win a write in campaign.Remember that Lisa Murkowski won her senate seat back in 2010 in Alaska as a write in after losing her primary. It can be done. It's tough (incumbents have stacked the deck against write ins for decades). But with facebook, email and other means of staying in touch (like what you are reading right now, for instance), She has a punchers chance aginst the machine.
Good luck Ms. Campbell. Go get 'em.
